As part of the broader Supply Chain team, the Supply Chain Materials Planner will play a key role providing hands on support for supply and inventory planning through reporting, analysis, and modeling activities. The Planning Analyst works in conjunction with a Buyer to optimize network inventories across all manufacturing locations as well as supplier site(s). He/she owns the Planning related activities such as reviewing S&OP forecasts, modeling the raw material requirements taking into account seasonality, and maintaining related supply plans. This person is also responsible for maintaining the Bill of Material line item details. Major support areas include: supply modeling and analysis, inventory management, reporting, and network optimization.
Responsibilities Include:
• Maintain Bill of Materials and leverage Retail product forecast(s) to build raw material supply plans; manage national inventory supply, maintaining appropriate levels in the supply chain
• Responsible for setting and adjusting inventory targets and safety stock levels for raw materials as needed
• Manage and coordinate supply needs with the Buyer related to New Product Initiatives (NPIs) as well as the end of life phase out of discontinued materials
• Monitor forecasted raw material demand against actual usage to identify issues and trends.
• Liaison between Marketing and Buying, attends S&OP to monitor promotional plans and coordinates any short term supply adjustments as needed with the Buyer
• Identify opportunities to refine replenishment and inventory management strategies
• Develop new models, tools, and ad hoc reports to address current business problems and optimize sourcing decisions
• Mitigate supply problems as needed
• Continually monitor forecasted demand against historical usage to identify issues and trends, root causing in order to correct deviations
• Prepare monthly, weekly and ad-hoc reports leveraging AWS and Business Intelligence tools
• Partner with manufacturing and warehouse staff to ensure smooth flow of materials through production; including resolution of any material quality issues
• Create and maintain Quantity Contract Purchase Order Agreements to Suppliers in order to set production volumes and SLA’s.
Requirements:
• B.S. degree with 5+ years experience in related field
• Strong critical thinker with good understanding of supply chain management concepts - forecasting, supply planning, and inventory optimization
• The candidate must demonstrate a strong ability to collaborate effectively with data warehouse engineers to define and refine reporting requirements. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough testing and validation of the reporting system to ensure data integrity, correctness, and alignment with business goals.
• Strong critical thinker with good understanding of supply chain management concepts - forecasting, supply planning, and inventory optimization
• Ability to conduct structured strategic analysis and problem solving (structuring issues and analyzing alternative solutions)
• Attention to accuracy and details; must be able to critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources to recognize and reconcile conflicts
• Excel expert with knowledge of advanced formulas, experience modeling supply needs, and managing large volumes of data efficiently
• Able to extract data via tools such as SAP, AWS, or similar systems
• Strong communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to interpret and summarize data to aid management in achieving strategic and operational goals
• Must possess the ability to work and research/resolve issues independently while sharing best practices and knowledge with colleagues
• Must be able to present data and analyses in an organized, clear, and concise manner to both internal and external partners
• Strong math, organizational, and time-management skills
• Ability to juggle priorities in a fast pace, high-growth environment
