This position is part of Shutterfly’s corporate accounting team. The Senior Analyst, Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting is responsible for timely, accurate and consistent preparation of the Company’s quarterly and annual financial reporting as well as certain duties related to stock administration.  Financial reporting responsibilities include the preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statements. Stock administration responsibilities include compensation expense reporting which includes preparation of journal entries and running expense reports from the system, uploading grants to the system, working with human resources to process cash payments for cash awards, etc.

What You'll Do Here:
·       Assist in the preparation of the financial statements. Ensure that such financial statements comply with Shutterfly’s internal policies and U.S. GAAP.
·       Responsible for the preparation of a comprehensive set of workpapers supporting the Company’s financial statements.
·       Prepare U.S. GAAP checklists for quarterly and annual financial statements.
·       Provide audit documentation to external auditors.
·       Assist in the preparation of compensation expense reporting including preparation of the monthly journal entries and expense forecasting.
·       Perform stock administration responsibilities such as loading grants to the system, processing payments for cash awards, and updating the system for terminations. The stock administration function will also require collaboration and coordination with the Shutterfly Compensation team and our third-party stock admin service provider for other operational matters.
·       Work cross-functionally with other groups to ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements such as General Accounting, Investor Relations, Legal, FP&A and others on deliverables and projects that affect financial reporting.
·       Collaborate in the preparation and review of earnings materials.
·       Review contracts and agreements, research relevant technical accounting guidance, and recommend the proper accounting treatment.
·       Complete census surveys.
·       Recommend and assist in the implementation of process improvements as appropriate, to simplify, standardize and streamline the financial reporting process.
·       Prepare and maintain appropriate internal control documentation for the Company’s stock plans.
·       Optional involvement in Finance Fun Committee, championed by the Technical Accounting and Reporting Team
What You'll Bring: 
·       Basic technical accounting and reporting skills.
·       Strong attention to detail, sense of ownership and time management skills
·       Positive attitude and dependable team player willing to “roll up their sleeves” to get the work done.
·    Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
·    Proven ability to prioritize activities and manage workload in a complex fast-paced environment with strict deadlines.
·       Ability to complete assignments with appropriate level of supervision.
·       BS Degree in Finance/Accounting; CPA preferred
·       3+ years of accounting experience with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
·       Public accounting experience a plus
